Welcome to Gippsland Ports

At Gippsland Ports, we proudly serve as the regional port and waterway manager, dedicated to maintaining the safety and functionality of five local ports and four waterways. Established in 1996, we provide essential services for the local community, visitors, and all users of our stunning waterways. Our team is committed to making each waterway experience smooth, safe, and enjoyable.

Our Role and Responsibilities

As Gippsland Ports, our responsibilities span across various vital areas, ensuring the seamless operation of regional waterways. We manage everything from navigation and port operations to security and compliance. We also oversee boating safety, emergency responses, and incident management, offering peace of mind to all waterway users. Additionally, we handle maritime security, oil spill response, and the complex tasks of dredging and sand management. Through our experienced team, based in Port Welshpool, Paynesville, Lakes Entrance, and Bairnsdale, we ensure that each port and waterway remains accessible and safe.

Working with the Community

At Gippsland Ports, we place a strong emphasis on collaboration. We work closely with government departments, local councils, and community organisations to achieve the highest standards in waterway management. This collaboration ensures that we stay attuned to the needs of both locals and visitors, and it enables us to provide a responsive and community-focused service.

Our team is highly trained to handle all aspects of waterway management, from routine maintenance to emergency responses. When incidents occur, we are ready to act swiftly, ensuring minimal disruption and safeguarding our environment and waterways.
