Discover Forge Creek Free Range: Quality Eggs from Happy Hens

At Forge Creek Free Range, we are proud to share our story with you. Our farm is owned and operated by the Hahnemann family in beautiful East Gippsland. We began our journey in 2010, driven by a passion for sustainable farming. From our humble beginnings with just 40 hens, we have expanded to house 8,000 hens across three farms. Our goal has always been to provide the highest quality free-range eggs while ensuring the happiness and well-being of our hens.

Our Farming Philosophy

The concept of Forge Creek Free Range was born out of a desire to find the best farming practices for our land. We believe in giving our hens the freedom to roam and explore their environment. Currently, we house our hens in purpose-built mobile trailers, allowing them to enjoy fresh pasture and the natural shade provided by the majestic Gippsland Plains Red Gums. With a maximum stocking density of just 500 hens per hectare, our hens live happy, healthy lives under the watchful eyes of our friendly alpacas.

Award-Winning Eggs

Our commitment to quality has not gone unnoticed. Our eggs have won medals at the Australian Food Awards for five consecutive years, including ‘Best in Class’ in 2016. We take immense pride in this recognition, which reflects our dedication to the health of our hens and the quality of our produce. By focusing on regenerative agriculture, we are ensuring that our farming practices benefit the land and the community for years to come.
